Also, don't miss this pimp and pump on Nvidia. (Stock of the day, no less!)

fnews.yahoo.com

Of particular curiosity is the complete absence of any mention of a certain competitor of said company. How does an analyst explain a research report in which he fails to identify a company's true competitors? Shame, shame.

For an even bigger laugh, check the last paragraph:

NVIDIA is poised to grow rapidly over the next 12-24 months thanks in large part to the strength of its products, especially the recently released TNT2 product

Cool, it's released! Where can I buy one!?!

Then again, how about that first paragraph:

Coming to a PC near your desk: 3-D graphics.

Near my desk? Does that mean on my neighbors desk? In the trashcan? My PC is on my desk. Well, actually my box is a workstation, but will soon be ripped from my grasp and replaced with a PC.

What's going on with nVidia's countersuit?

(If there is one. The docket says "Counterclaim" and the clerk said "oh they're suing them back.")

I'm looking to upgrade my computer over the next few months as well. Since much of the "new" techonology (AGPx4, the real next gen videocards, etc) is coming out this fall to winter, I've decided to upgrade to a Celeron-based motherboard (maybe even socket-370). I've been planning on building my own, so I'll pick good quality components I can transfer to my new machine one Intel/AMD finally release their newer products.

So I'll need an ATX case, a new soundcard, and a new 19" monitor, and, of course, a new V3 videocard.

I think that Intel and the PC box makers are going to be hurt over the next little while as there is no compelling reasons to buy the high-end machines right now.
