CompUSA Revamps Site, Creates Online Store

"CompUSA Inc., Dallas, revamped its Web site, creating an Internet subsidiary that will be an online computer store. CompUSA Net.com Inc. will compete with Dell Computer Corp., Round Rock, Texas; Compaq Computer Corp., Houston and Gateway Inc., North Sioux City, S.D., for market share in online retailing of desktop and notebook PCs, software, printers, scanners and other electronic and digital products. CompUSA has mentioned that it may consider selling stock in the unit in the future. CompUSA operates 209 computer stores."
