(OTC BB:RTEK - news) Tuesday announced that, because of the overwhelming increase in demand for the company's rubber products, the company is purchasing additional equipment that will significantly increase production and efficiency. With faster production, considerable savings in operation costs and increased sales of crumb rubber and new molded products, the company is looking forward to significant increases in revenues and future expansion of its operations. The new equipment will efficiently reduce the primary tire shred to smaller-sized crumb with at least 96 percent of the steel removed. The company will realize significant savings in several ways: first, the throughput on production of the crumb-rubber system will be increased. Secondly, the steel from the used tires will now be removed in such a clean condition that it can be sold, and lastly, the cost for disposing of the previously unusable waste material will be eliminated. Additionally, a 2000-ton press is being purchased, which will allow the company to increase its molded products line to include much larger products such as truck-bed liners, horse mats, speed bumps and other products that require a press of this size. Additional contracts for these products are expected to be announced in the near future. Rubber Technology International is a leader in the tire recycling industry. The Los Angeles-based company is paid to receive scrap tires that are then ground into crumb rubber, which is in ever-increasing demand for molded goods, horse arenas, playgrounds and in rubberized asphalt.
