Blue, you chose our Techride locale so well, and it's working out great in more ways then we could have hoped for! Glad there's no need for stated disclaimers here, because no one here is either 1) compensated to talk in whatever direction about any stock or 2) is a professional trying to "run ahead" of the pack or 3) is attempting to manipulate the price by posting false facts or 4) hiding a controlling identity. From what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong or omitting something important) those are the Main Biggie SEC rules about when disclaimers/statements of compensation/association needs be made...(I love digging into rules and laws as you know) but when Joe posted a lighthearted disclaimer it reminded me I hadn't done one in awhile. I like to sometimes, because I don't want anyone reading my posts to follow what I do especially as my doings aren't always reported "before the market" and never "before I move on it" except when I say am thinking about it or drawing a bead on it. If I change my mind about something I've targeted or The Boat Leaves Without Me, I may not write about it because once that happens Down The Memory Hole it goes and I'm already watching something else. I might not share it when I sell a stock and/or might post a sell if I hadn't mentioned I'd bought it...for no reason but my own reasons... usually timepressures, absent mindedness, disorganization, or not wanting to post any seeming negatives for the remaining investors on the thread. All I know is I wouldn't want anyone to be dependent on me because I cannot be relied upon! I'm no fully reporting stockpicker in a newsletter but just posting to and with pals, that's right. So sometimes that's why I post a lighthearted disclaimer; never knowing who might be reading what I'm writing, don't want followers (except for my paintings!) even if they came along! Responsibility for myself and my family is enough! I would hope if anyone reading likes either the pro or con I'm expressing - that it's a lucky springboard and continue from there to tally it up with further DD gathering of stats and ultimately decide what their own final opinion and circumstances dictate. What's Best About Techride, Blue, (and Thanks again for finding and initiating it)... Is there's no edginess here on our SI home - no expectations, spelling corrections, spams, nastiness, patronization, or shot-across-the-bow challenges - unlike so many boards especially our former board at the end times of it. Way unlike some of the individual stock threads anywhere at times of bulls/bears wars, too, where Not Fun = Not Worth It. On many boards, to speak positively of a stock is to be accused of being a compensated tout or hyping it - and to say something negative means that poster is accused of being a compensated share-gatherer or a short. We'll be having none of that around here where we're pals trying to put our heads together to help each other succeed, celebrate our wins, learn from our losses, spot and hunt Red Eyes (my pet name for The Beast, like it?) accompanied. I wonder if we get many glances, maybe so because many tickers mentioned here and there's that wonderful text search capability on SI which led me to notice some Really Decent other stocktalk boards along with Techride (on the same text search list usually what a kwinkydink): other simpatico investors looking at the same companies with nice people on those boards too. I bookmark and read them sometimes: so maybe those folks read us too. But the big majority of my posts are on Techride...it's my center and I don't have much time in my life usually except for maybe two days a month to sit online and read and post nonstop. I might post on a thread of a stock I'm holding; and once or twice I've "intruded" on one of these general stock/talk pals threads like ours to give a link they're searching for that I know about and a complimentary hello. But I don't have time, to keep up with all...what's on my plate already takes up more time than I have. Boredom and I are strangers. In my whole life could count the times on two hands for almost 50 years. There's always something to do, think of, talk about, cry over, laugh about, give, accept, feel, enjoy, experience, share, or dream about. Never a dull moment. Yes, it's a gift. You too, huh?! Well whaddya know. Takes One To Know One. Hold On To The Bar Please. Nanhu-Nanhu, Joan
