Jordex Resources Inc - JDX

Kaiser says market eager for Jordex's next move

Shares issued 30,367,857
1999-03-29 close $0.94
Tuesday Mar 30 1999

John Kaiser, writing in a March 29, 1999, Bottom-Fish Tracker, notes that Jordex Resources broke out of its trading range to 94 cents on relatively heavy volume of 533,700 shares. He attributes the move to anticipation surrounding the company's negotiations with non-resource-sector companies. Mr. Kaiser recommended Jordex in December 1998 at 50 cents; other buy tips were December 1997 at 85 cents and in February 1999 at 59 cents. The letter writer refers to Jordex as a cash-rich shell because of its present lack of focus and a fat $21-million treasury. The search for a new direction is spearheaded by Hamilton Group's Bill Staudt, who has been credited with finding new life for a Nasdaq shell. The rumour mill has Jordex acquiring an Internet company, but the baron of bottom fishing says he doubts this, arguing perhaps facetiously that the company's stated goal of finding a target with high gross margins rules out what he calls "Internet nonsense." Mr. Staudt bought 800,000 shares in a private placement at 48 cents.

Hi Keith,

I've seen April 8 posted as the AGM date. Isn't the AGM scheduled for April 19?

Thanks in advance
AK
