Johannes:Thanks for the advice, and the well- wishing...The only time I went to Coney Island, it was March, and it hadn't opened up yet. The New York aquarium was open, but it suffers by comparison with the National Aquarium in Baltimore. On the other hand, the drive out was fascinating. Ocean Parkway is in a predominantly Jewish area, apparently largely Orthodox. I have never seen so many Yeshivas in my life! And, consonant with the Russian origins of many of them, I was charmed to see so many chess tables planted strategically along the median strip, most of them in use.
It has been a long while since I have spent much time in the outer boroughs. As I have mentioned, I spend a lot of time at museum shows. But my son would like to see Coney Island, and I thought I might include some other things if I go to Brooklyn.By the way, I know what you mean about finding things to amuse you as long as your wife is along...
