BEDFORD, Mass., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Security Dynamics Technologies, Inc. SDTI today announced that it has appointed Tom Schuster senior vice president of worldwide sales and field operations for the Company's enterprise products, including the award-winning SecurID(R) family of authenticators and the recently announced Keon(TM) enterprise PKI product family. In this role, Mr. Schuster will report directly to president Art Coviello Jr. and will be responsible for managing all of Security Dynamics' enterprise sales operations.
Mr. Schuster was previously vice president of Security Dynamics' Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) operations. During his tenure, Mr. Schuster established and grew a two-tier distribution channel, and implemented innovative marketing programs which resulted in sales increases of more than 100 percent.

"Tom has done a spectacular job in growing the European business, and in recruiting and developing a strong team who will maintain the business until his successor is named," said Art Coviello, president of Security Dynamics. "As senior vice president of enterprise sales, based here in the U.S., Tom will bring fresh perspective to the sales function and help us be a truly global company."

In his new role, Mr. Schuster will focus on maintaining growth and expansion of the SecurID authenticator product line, developing the Keon PKI-based application security business launched in January, and supporting strong, results-oriented demand generation programs to achieve higher sales results.

Prior to joining Security Dynamics, Mr. Schuster held a number of positions at Novell, including regional vice president for Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa, and EMEA director of distribution. Prior to Novell, Mr. Schuster served as managing director with Uniplex GmbH in Germany, and as a product manager for IBM's AIX Office Automation Division.
