Dear Eric: I wouldnt expect any financial details to be made public but it looks to me as like a Joint Venture. As to revenues, reading the press release I am left with the feeling it will be HUGE. I believe they are going to make continual press releases as the situation progresses. Which is good. As to stock valuation, I havent ANY IDEA. We are now in a whole new WORLD and ANYTHING is possible. JDN

No, the consulting bucks will go to neither! The alliance
will be (initially) partnering with integration firms
like EDS. So no big bucks for either aol or sunw.
Both will get 50-50 for software sales. In addition,
as part of the deal, sunw sells hardware to AOL and AOL
will sell existing software to Sun.

Hi JDN - So now that we will have an e-commerce sales and consulting/programming
division, just how will the analysts peg a valuation to this "new" business?

My guess is that these new sales will generate much higher margins, more like what
CA and Oracle get. Do we know what the split is for AOL and SUNW is (ie. 50:50??). Or
does AOL make the big consulting bucks and SUNW just sells the hardware?

Also, I did not see any estimate for future sales amounts. If you discover any
additional financials or estimates regarding this new partnership, please post.
