john..re dell shorts...

i think it is a bit more than short covering...i posted the other day a move to 42-44, pull back and upleg to 48-52...no crystal ball..just repeating a pattern which no ta on the thread can explain...a recurring violation of 50/200 dma for as long as 30 days than a strong leg up...

as far as aol and emc...agree with aol, not following the stock, probably a good issue, but perhaps ahead of itself....emc, which i went long about a month ago at 101.25 is a "dell like entity"...it is a gorilla..even if dell enters storage market...emc has a head start...my belief is emc can give an investor strong return...good luck, ed a.

John -
I agree. If CPQ has a good report, DELL will shoot up. DELL has another month after that before earnings, and the sales trend would clearly be favorable for a back-loaded quarter. DELL already paid for January while CPQ will have to average that into 1Q. Folks will figure that out. Not a good time to be short...
