Regarding bears being better off: Unfortunately, bears have jobs too, at least I think they do...MBurkes don't grow on trees, after all (unlike loans on the internet). Nuclear winter for PCs is going to mean a lot of lost jobs in both software and hardware. And the slowdown/recession/depression that is coming will mean we can't all continue to pay top dollar to each other to perform services for each other.

I, for one, have been with three companies this decade that have gone kaput despite the goldilocks economy. We are already setting records for layoffs. It scares me to think what a real economic slowdown will look like. Although I might be on the right side of some investments, I'm not sure how happy I will be if I can't find a job.

Well, probably happier than if I lost my investments as well. <g>
