NOKA & QCOM

I am the lead technician for Primeco Personal Communications In the Chicago market. The District Sales
Manager of Nokia has just walked out of the Primeco I work at. We are currently carrying the 2170 model
which we will no longer be selling, it is going to be replaced with the Nokia 6100 Model (which I just saw).
The 6100 is nice little unit which has some nice features just added on that other Nokia's never had. Features
such as Standard Lithium Ion Battery, Video games, Vibrating feature built in phone instead of battery, Alarm
feature for important appointments, and this phone is CDMA digital by Qualcomm. I see tons of phones with
all sorts of problems day in and day out I must say that Qualcomm makes a quality product. It looks like
Nokia made their product with a little better quality (the nickel metal battery) they supply with some of the old
model phones was a nightmare. These batteries were not user friendly. Conditioning of the battery was a long
process that would inconveience the customer (a lot of phones swaped out for other models (QCOM)
because of that alone. Being in the mobile phone business for seven years I think that both these companies
Nokia & Qualcomm have plenty of room for growth and can & will compliment each other. We also just
recieved the CDMA Motorola Star Tac to play with should on sale April 1, 1999.
