All,

Here's an good article on memory technology from the Dell site. The headline says it was written in March 1998, but when I pulled it up by searching the Dell site for "Rambus", it said that it had been modified 2/1/99. It doesn't get too technical, but it does go into a little depth. It also points out some good business issues. The Rambus/DDR/SLDRAM section starts just after the midpoint, but read the first part of the article as well to get a background on the technology (especially the section on how complex it is to design motherboards nowadays). About the only piece that seems a little out-of-date is the SLDRAM section, since the consortium has disbanded, but the technology description itself is still relevant. Also, there's an interesting paragraph near the end about which technologies might be complementary rather than competitive (e.g. ESDRAM with RDRAM).

Where does Jim Cramer admit he's short RMBS? You could be getting Truff and Cramer confused.
