Malaysia approves Viagra sale - paper
KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Reuters) - Malaysia has given final approval for prescription sales of anti-impotence drug Viagra, the Star newspaper said on Thursday.

An estimated 1.2 million Malaysians suffering from erectile dysfunction could now buy the drug with a doctor's prescription from clinics and pharmacies, the daily newspaper said, without stating its source.

Shares of the distributor of the drug in Malaysia, Gold Coin (M) Bhd moved on the report, rising 64 cents to 4.28 ringgit in active trade.

In October, health authorities gave initial clearance for the drug to be sold, subject to evaluation.

Pfizer (NYSE:PFE - news), the U.S. pharmaceutical company that makes the drug, would have to ensure the drug was not abused, the paper said.
