Yes, but the DOW also slid for 6 months before the war even started. Before that war, there was much more concern about a "super" weapon Sadham said he had with some indications that he did have something capable of mass destruction. Also, chemical and bio weapons were big concerns. On the day the war started, the Japanese market was up massively because it became clear the US would destroy Iraq; the US market followed.

IMO, comparisons to the Gulf War then and Kosovo now will yield nothing to bank on.
