I like the comparison with the Simpsons (Jury), because it is reality.
The decision about the amount of punitive damages was against the law.
But who cares, when there is the poor family of this smoker left behind and the big industry, evil by definition, has to pay for it.
Maybe only somebody from the outside can recognize how ridiculous it is. Does anybody know whether Homer et al. are deciding about the appealed case or some real judges are responsible for it?
