Would you consider it falure for a person to take out student loans to earn an MD instead of earning a salary right out of high school?

Not necessarily a good analogy. I have no problem with a growth company that invests its profits back into the business to grow. I have no problem if they borrow and get themselves further into debt to help fuel their growth and profitability. But they have no profitability. The efforts of a student trying to earn an MD and going into debt are usually worth it. Once the degree is earned, the lack of competition in the field is guaranteed as it's so hard to get there. But selling books over the internet? Anybody can and many will do it. This investment they are currently making while losing money is already frought with competition.

It's the end game that matters. That's what Amazon investors are are betting on.

William,

I tried to avoid putting in my two cents but this not a good analogy. Please try another;-)
