I have it on the authority of no less a personage than the President of the United States that it's "Absolutely not" the case that NATO bombings are aggravating the repression in Kosovo. Are you suggesting the President could be prevaricating? What could be the motive?? To make his own policies look good to the dopes, er people, who place their trust in him? Perish the thought! Besides, character on the part of a leader of a great nation doesn't matter anyway.

Moreover, who cares if we have triggered a humanitarian disaster? We just don't have to think about it. We are very good at that.
