WIRELESS FLEXIBILITY. CARRIER- CLASS PERFORMANCE

The Clearwire solution is a wireless IP network that operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band, and enables network service providers to deliver local loop connectivity to the Internet at speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps (half duplex). The product consists of base station infrastructure equipment and customer premise equipment or CPE. Base station infrastructure equipment is positioned at existing tower or rooftop sites that afford effective line of sight to the desired area of coverage. CPE, which functions as an access server, is connected to an end user's LAN or PC via a 10Base-T Ethernet interface.

Both base station equipment and CPE employ Clearwire's unique T/R Module technology that allows the antenna and indoor unit (IDU) to be installed up to 250' apart, without degraded performance.

The product is almost limitless in its scalability. Each base station can support from 50 to over 200 end users, and network coverage and capacity expand to meet market demands by adding base stations.

The product is also the first carrier-class wireless local access product to operate in no-license spectrum. Networks are backed with base station redundancies (power supplies, channels, antennas), full SNMP V2 management, and a robust air protocol (patent pending) that ensures IP packet delivery through forward error correction and frequency hopping.

Clearwire delivers this carrier-class product in the form of a fully supported turnkey solution. We work with the NSP to design and construct the network to their specifications, put in place the operations support infrastructure, and then turn it over to the NSP to operate, manage and collect the revenues.

The economics are as compelling as the product's performance. A NSP can service an unlimited number of customers within an MSA at a operating cost of under $40 per customer. Our high fade margin radio translates to very long range coverage (we spec the radio to 25 miles), making it possible for a single base station to cover an area of 2,000 square miles.
