Good luck with those calls. MSFT already had a run-up but maybe there is room to hit 100 by expiration of options--with continueing settlement talks; Office2k announcements;and Window2k announcements.

Hard to say!!! I think the earning will be reported before the expiration, and the MM may hold the price till expiration. Will only buy the May option after the expiration of the April call, and sell the option one week before the May expiration.

The government will have to settle or they will lose in the high court. The high court will not accept the DOJ or the government to define the products for Microsoft , or say, interfere the product development of any corp , which is pretty much said about the integration of IE in WIN 98, and the high court will not allow the DOJ or the government to force a company to put its products on auction , to say it another way , to put Microsoft on the death penality, because this conduct is against the free market theory, and every company in US has the right to compete , either losely or fiercely/ it is the decision of the company, not the government. The appeal court already said very clear, Microsoft should have the right to continue improve its window products, and has the right to integrate any new featres which will benefit the consumers. So put the window on auction , it means Microsoft will even lose the right to keep its own product, or decide what it want to do with its own products, it is , again, against the rule of the appeal court , that is why if the judge rule against Microsoft and place the penality required by the government or DOJ on Microsoft, it will definitely lose again on the appeal court. So, the best choice for the government or DOJ is to put a reasonable request for settlement on the table which will let Microsoft continue to have the right to improve its products , and Microsoft's right about what new products to develop and how to develop them will be protected, which is the basic right of every US corp, it is under this reasonable request , then we will have a settlement . Otherwise , either Jackson will rule against the government, or
for the DOJ and get reversed in the appeal court. So, now it is the chance for the government to settle the case , instead of putting any ridiculous terms and get nothing
( no settlement), and get reverse later by the appeal court. Anyhow DOJ/Government need to keep the face. When you take money from your boss, you need to help them not to lose face at least.

Jake,
On Microsoft, I'm the last person to ask because I'm generally wrong. I just sold a few covered calls, so you'll probably be OK :-)
