O.T. Gentlemen, et al, a serious question to the brilliant technical/analytical minds on the Novell thread....I recently sold my Novl.after 3 agonizing years of waiting, having bought in originally at 21, so ,like a kid in love with love, I immediately ran out (on tip from wife, bringing tip from work) thats called DD, ggg, ...and bought into COMPUWARE (CPWR) now that I own the shares Im doing a DD and almost cant tell the difference between Novl & CPWR, all basic stats. appear comparable? Would someone please offer an opinion? I promise to jump back in to Novl. at 22-23, and never leave again????gggggg Thanks, Waldy

How Do We Square These Two Comments?

Schmidt's comments regarding Digital Me:

1) "The question is not where you want to go today. It's who you want to be today," says Eric Schmidt, Novell's chairman and CEO. "It is the next step. We build a structure where individuals control what happens to them. The value of the Internet is in its ability to empower the individual."

2) "It's the way in which businesses can capture and hold the customer," says Schmidt. "People like to go back to places where they feel welcome."

Clearly #2 is the operative line with CitiGroup and other corporate clients.

#1 is there for everyone and everything else.

Should Novell take sides?

Despite all the chop licking going on among the big dogs, I think Schmidt should clearly articulate that Novell will be taking Digital Me to the END USER, period.

Let the marketplace decide who should get control.

If CitiGroup gives me the warm and fuzzies then I'd be glad to give them some of my Digital Me shelf space. If not, then its click bye bye.

The power behind click bye bye is the ultimate force behind this quiet revolution. It will force a total realignment of corporations and their view and treatment of customers.

For the power HAS shifted.

I feel empowered.

Bye bye......
