Pegaso Lines Up Credit For Mexican CDMA Buildout
(Thanks to Phillips Telecom)
Mexican PCS licensee Pegaso PCS has obtained a $100 million working capital facility for construction of its Mexican
CDMA networks. The commitment comes from Qualcomm Inc. [QCOM], who we're pretty sure can afford it these days.
Qualcomm spin-off Leap Wireless International Inc. [LWIN] is one of the owners of Pegaso, which launched service in
Tijuana in February (see PCS WEEK, Feb. 17). Pegaso said its current commitments-$ 1.1 billion in debt, equity, and vendor
financing-will give it all the capital it needs to build out its first phase networks covering Mexico's four largest markets: Tijuana,
Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey.

Does this mean that a jump in Q's revenues (minus Ifra Div) would not be too cool for LWIN?

Thanks,
