In theory then it seems that you could write a "virus" that would in effect send email to every one in someone's address book that would then email back to an email address collection program that would know who is in your address book - a list made more valuable to junk emailers by virtue of the fact that you have been marked as gullible enough to click on the darned link without thinking about it. Your friends are likely just as gullible - a ready-made audience coming to them pre-qualified even.
