Janice, why do you think that the quality should be lower than that of normal telephony? The Brits have already shown that the larger the screen the more sonorous the sound, you lose much less of the lower frequencies (it is elementary, my dear Watson...). That may not be important to sopranos and contra tenors, but for buffo bassos such as I, the larger the screen, the more ot captures those frequencies in the sub 20 Hz range. Furthermore, as discussed here earlier, in the presence of fluorescent light, frequency shifted duplication occurs which further improves the quality (if not the fidelity) of the sound.

It is as if you added some big (screen size) woofers to your phone.
