It's not about books. It's about aggregating a huge customer base with a fanatical focus on customer service and establishing its brand as the premier e-portal on a global scale. Only after this is accomplished will Amazon start making significant profits.

Actually, as an investor, it's only about making money. And to this point AMZN investors have made a ton of it. But at some point in the future which I cannot say, the stock price will reflect the profitability or lack thereof for the company. Bottom line AMZN needs to make money. How long the investment community lets this slide is something I do not know. I just know it's hard to make money in a low margin business such as they are in. And the money they need to make to support the current price is incredible.
