Clark, <<but what reasons does he give for Qualcomm not being able to retrofit? >> he gave none. although he stated it's all intertwined with their chip rate and ASICs, i.e., alter the filter process, you alter the ASICs, QCOM doesn't get paid. Possibly Gilder will call him and discuss. He stated it all came down to the QCOM's filter process - QCOM's was insisting on correlator. So, why would QCOM be so insistent (we're talking extremely) on correltator if it didn't disrupt their other processes and or IPRs? Golden Bridge Tech (private company) is big on matched filter, although they're closed mouth about it. If my legs are cut off at the knees tomorrow you'll know how serious reporting this business over the net really is.

thank you for the time and explanation, although lengthy, you're obviously well educated in this field. Would appreciate your further thoughts on this subject, as obviously, according to him it's imperative to QCOM's immediate future relative to 3G.
