Kemble, (OT re CNBC / Credibility)

Most of the time, I believe CNBC is attempting to be a source of entertainment with the focus on attracting ratings rather than a source of serious financial news for investors.

Maria Bartiromo chose to take the IBM lie from Morgan Stanley without any attempt to disclose that Morgan Stanley probably stood to lose a bundle on its options and futures positions if the Dow continued to trade up.

It's impossible for them to regain the lost credibility with me, at least. It's now less than 2 weeks later. IBM went down on MS's unfounded rumour and is back up on no news.

Unfortunately, CNBC is the only "financial" network that my cable provider carries; and they do have useful news from time to time.

Best wishes,
Ian.
