I think Amazon.com is almost guaranteed some longterm success in the auction business. Their customer base is solid, and ready to buy; most customers are already registered to bid, so the steps to take are simple. I'm not sure about the effect of Amazon.com's auction business on eBay's business. I own shares of both. I could see Amazon doing some damage to eBay, but expect eBay will continue to thrive along with AMZN. This may not be a case of winner take all. Randy
