Mohan,
Hi!!!

RE: DROOLING

Dell Launches Award-Winning Pentium III; Dimension Desktop PCs in China; Global Expansion Continues with Chinese Consumer Effort

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 1999--Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today introduced its award-winning Dimension(R) desktop PC line into China.

The introduction of Dell's flagship consumer line into one of the fastest-growing consumer PC markets in the world underscores the company's move into global markets.

"China is by far the single largest market of potential PC users on the planet," said Carl Everett, senior vice president of Dell's Personal Systems Group. "The Dimension product is the lead product in our consumer strategy for this exciting marketplace."

According to International Data Corporation Q498 data, the Chinese consumer desktop market grew 75 percent year-over-year and is forecasted to grow 52 percent this year.

Dell began selling PCs directly to customers in China last August. In the seven months since entering the Chinese market, customers in 15 major cities and almost 80 municipal areas now purchase directly through Dell sales representatives and the www.dell.com/ap Web site. In addition to the Dimension XPS T product, Dell sells OptiPlex, PowerEdge, and Latitude products in China. In November 1998, Dell opened a 135,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Xiamen to serve the Chinese market. According to the IDC Q498 report, Dell sales in China surged 205 percent in Q498 over Q497.

Now let's see the analysts talk of revenue short falls... :o)

BE DIRECT IN CHINA.....Bingo....

Best, Kemble
