Srini, no argument here on your outline of LEAPs.

But as with investment, there are good times to buy LEAPs and there are bad times to buy LEAPS. LEAPs are not simply a security blanket that offers one a guaranteed return on a MSFT investment.

Now is not a good time.

Thanks a lot for the note....

I am starting to really like LEAPS, as I control only 200 shares directly, but 400 through LEAPS and it cost me less than to buy the common..

Impressive.

I also like the 2001, as safer than 2000, and will probably buy 2002 this summer when they come out..

Is it better to buy the stock with the LEAP (if I have the cash) or sell them and buy further out ?

what do you think ?
