I believe that what Frank_C was saying is that the ways companies can offer DSL is nearly unlimited. If a company wants to offer DSL using different switching equipment than what is used by the telco, then they can lease space in the telco's building and put their own equipment in, leasing just that space and the copper wires from the telco.

It sounds like that's what msn is going to do, perhaps with help from the new partnership they have with Rhythms.
