Yah as a CEO Clinton's looking sharp, although I think it was the Reagan and Bush years that laid the foundation for the strong 90's markets.

re >>You seriously underrate Clinton. The guy's invincible! With Naz and S&P where it is, no naughty behavior, war or ground troops are going to affect his "political career"<<

You are so right. The man has a teflon coating and as hard as he has tried to screw it up something saves him every time. However, in Kosovo, the fat lady doesn't even have a scheduled date.

The miscalculations are mind boggling. Milosevic didn't fold like a cheap suit. We are running out of air launched cruise missiles. No plan to send in ground troops with our own people telling us Milo is perhaps days away from accomplishing his objectives in Kosovo. Russki ships off the coast to alert Milo when the heavy stuffs coming over, or worse.....

If this situation isn't FUBAR I don't know what is. What's a fund raiser in chief to do?

Regards,

Greg

You seriously underrate Clinton. The guy's invincible!

You've got to be out of your f***ing mind.

Clinton went into this with *no* strategy, no U.S. interests at stake, and no effort to bring American public opinion up to speed. He has completely miscalculated how Milosevic would respond, apparently believing Milosevic would fold relatively early and he could wrap it up quickly and on the cheap. How wrong.

Maybe it's just my twisted mind, but, to me, Milosevic appears to be playing a classic rope-a-dope game, trying to lure NATO air and ground forces into a long-term engagement so he can gradually rip them to shreds.

What is the deliberate ethnic cleansing of Kosovo if not a lure to get NATO air forces down near the ground where they are easier to shoot down, before the task of eliminating Milosevic's air defense is completed?

What is the genocide going on in that province if not a deliberate policy to enflame Western public opinion and force the hand of NATO and, in particular, the United States, to start committing ground troops?

What is the capture of U.S. soldiers 15 miles inside Macedonia if not a deliberate provocation to incite the Western alliance and drag them into a ground conflict whether they want one or not?

Milosevic wants to bring the U.S. down a few notches, as do the Russians, the Chinese, the Iraqis and a few others. What better place to do it than in the Balkans?

Every day this disaster just seems to get worse and worse.
