Joe,

With Flash memory being the most practical medium (today) for digital photography, I wouldn't be surprised to see Fuji or some other company in the photography business to buy up Sandisk. Kodak has shown to not have the guts to make such a bold decision. JMHO of course.

Joe and Thread,

This is the explanation for our recent drop in value...

SanDisk competitors disclosing new products...at CeBIT...Sony
Corp. (SNE), International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) and
Tel-Aviv's M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers Ltd. (FLSHF).

Mark Edelstone, an analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, said shares of
SanDisk may have also been depressed by an overall recent weakness in
technology stocks.

That was excerpted from a Dow Jones News Service release a week or two ago.
