Yes you are right, however I believe that they always counted on replacing one synchrotron with multiple smaller point sources.

Now JMAR is saying that one point source will have as much power as one synchrotron.

I was under the assumption that they were already capable of this. They knew this had to be achieved to go with their XRL to get down to that "2-3 refrigerator size" that was mentioned 2-3 years ago. So when he said XRL was nearly ready 1 1/2 years ago for a demo, this element had not been resolved? I'm confused.

Don't get me wrong I think this is great news, but it raises a lot of questions.
