OT*********************** I am happy that your country is doing well...that you are taking stock in the ancestors of your town and family... I am however not as enthralled nor happy about the current takeover of the other countries of the world be US corps... Sad but true this is the bain in many ways of the exports of OUR culture...surely the drugs are wonderful in the elimination of the diseases that SHOULD not be suffered by peoples of the world...but then when one looks at the MacDonalds taking over I get miffed... Why? Because it's the elimination of culture as well that is so negative when these giants come into the market scene... I belong to a wonderful group out of ITALY called The SLOW FOOD MOVEMENT**...You would no doubt love the group's mission...if one can call it that... They bring culture back into the kitchen and disdain the way that the US fast food/Disneyland/ approach has really taken a toll on the smaller and certainly the larger countries culinary cultures. They have a lot to say and one interesting point is that the fast food movement in ITSELF (this certainly goes for the US as WELL!) has lead to much destruction in the family units... The decreasing numbers of families eating TOGETHER...the traditions of the family GATHERING for the meal(s)of the day is quickly disappearing and this leads in itself to the family not being in touch with itself. Of course dining and enjoying the foods of the world is also on their agenda in a very big way... But they are a good force in a fast world for taking a look at what is going on...and has many excellent articles in their quarterly magazine.I shall get the address for you since with all your travels and entertaining I am sure that you would enjoy being a part of it. Ike ..OT... good to see you back...when we look at the TV pictures, into the eyes of those tortured people, it makes you so mad... terriible, disgusting event...and it's 1999....unthinkable..... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I want to bring your attention to MNMD...a stock we both know...2-1 split Ike on Apr 19th..should run hard, thin float, but i own it at 92 1/2, and the May 100 Calls for nothing... for my son & yours<ggggg>...... Zain are you reading??????????
