<<I have a sinking feeling about Russia. >>

Me too.

<<They are a major player in this crisis, but the US is acting as if they did not exist, and completely brushed them aside following their trip to Belgrade.>>

A clear slap in the face. It will take years to get relations back to friendly with Russia, soon to be the USSR again because of Bubba.

>Something tells me they are about to something dramatic that will force a NATO cease fire.<

I suspect they are waiting for NATO to commit ground troops. Then we will perhaps see an open increase in Russian participation. If I read Les's note to me correctly, Russia is on the financial hook to the IMF and desperately wants to stay out of a conflict. Nevertheless if NATO declares Kosovo an "autonomous" state or if it sends in troops, I simply cannot see how Russia can sit by and just whine.
