Jim,

OT, all apologies:
"Slick has gone out all alone and now he's failing."

You're Right, and the reason is that he is afraid of the negative sentiment to which you refer. He is an absolute COWARD.

"You tell that to the parents of our military personnel, tell it to their loved ones"

USMC stands for: U Signed the M***** F***** Contract!

On this point my feeling is that those that join the military must be aware of the risks. I mean signing up does NOT mean your life turns into a video game like the commercials on TV. I think we should definitely go all out in this regard and I feel that ground troops would be necessary to do this.

Bush absolutely did an excellent job on selling the gulf war. Clinton's chickens are already home, roosting on his desk in the oval office.

All the things you say are valid and/or true. But these facts aren't mutually exclusive to my opinion on the matter. Should we only be involved in painless military exercises?

I don't want ANYONE to die, but if genocide isn't a good reason to engage an enemy, there isn't one. How will our unwillingness to stop this be explained to future generations without feelings of shame and regret for not acting?

Chris
