Try the Start menu at the bottom left of your screen and see if you can select Windows Update ... It should examine your machine and list the Win98 upgrades available ... If you havn't been installing the updates, there are quite a few, including some java bug fixes and Y2K.

Netscape Communicator, like Navigator before it, allows Java applets to stay alive for a certain number of pages, when you surf on. IE 4 or 5 sets this number to 0, and will always close the Ticker, if you load another page. For this reason we have the option of opening the Ticker in a seperate window, so that you can keep the hosting web page open.

You should use this option with Communicator as well, and then no matter how many SI posts you read, in another browser window, the Ticker will continue to run.
