<<Any opinions on the bcst acquisition and what this will mean to yhoo stock price? Why isn't this good news for yhoo? I don't know much about the deal... just looking for info.>>

According to the WSJ it will cause a loss to YHOO's bottom line ("People familiar with the talks said last week that one worry for Yahoo was that the company's profits -- rare in the Internet world -- would be eroded by money-losing Broadcast.com").

Also, 'dilution, dilution, dilution'

Michelle,

>> Why isn't this good news for yhoo?

Because they paid $4+ B for assets that cost $100 M. That means Yahoo management values their stock at 1/40th of its current price.

Same thing with GeoCities. That did wonders for Yahoo stock price, right !

As tonyt said "dilution". It is like you pull out a wad of twenties from your pocket , and all it buys is a loaf of bread that cost the baker 2 dollars, but he had put a sign on it saying $130.
