Absolutely- it was the Japanese bombing of Pearly Harbor that coalesced Americans into an angry mass ready to send their boys to die in Europe. I suspect the bombing of Kosovo makes the Serbs every bit as pissed, and stirs up an even more nationalistic fervor- since they are a small nation being picked on by a huge group- there is probably some David and Goliath psychology working on them as well.

Set Yugoslav democracy back ---- Isn't it really amazing that the Germans, who were bombed out of house and home when they were Hitler supporters by American and British aircraft then were occupied became strong allies in NATO five years later. Astounding that the Japanese who had their cities completely burned out and were even nuked, became the US's greatest admirers and copied our politics (with the friendly help of occupation forces). Enemies quickly become friends with those who bring them aid, personal freedom, and friendship. Those who would learn the lessons of World War II should see that is unconditional surrender, occupation, reformation, aid and friendship of your enemies can be accomplished if victory is complete. Our greatest failure in winning the Cold War was our refusal to occupy Russia and reform it. But Reagan and Bush were too weak and dumb to emulate Roosevelt and Churchill. On to Belgrade and Baghdad!
