If the gorilla is real. Jump

Sure, no problem there, but, when is it real? I knew that QCOM was a Gorilla in waiting 5 years ago, but it was only worth jumping into when the suit was settled. They could have lost it.

Don't underestimate the money to be made in grey Gorillas like MSFT and CSCO. You are obviously doing well with CSCO.

I have found, from experience, that jumping into small cap potential Gorillas is a losing proposition.

Of course, Mike Buckley would suggest the contrary view - careful analysis in advance, etc. etc.

Mike Buckley's biggest investing weakness is that he is not enough of a visionary.

>>With due deference to the board leader, you, I would suggest that you might wish to revisit the Gorilla Game criteria, or failing that, simple common sense. The old gorillas are getting grey. Where is the best opportunity?

Thanks for enthusiastic post about qcom, gdichaz. Don't sweat the deference, cause I'm not this board's leader. I started G&K to find some like minded investors that could help me improve my skills, and have been gratified at the group of successful investors that have shared their wisdom with us.

Qualcomm is definitely on our radar screen, but most of us are looking at it as a long term investment as opposed to a momentum play, so there is plenty of time to do dd. In the meantime, our Silverbacks are still kicking butt, so don't be disrespectful <g>.

Frank

btw, don't forget to look into AOL; it makes qcom look sedentary <vbg>.

I'm not so sure the old gorillas are getting grey. Maybe stronger 'cuz I'm sure feeling their punch, in my portfolio, that is.

From largest to smallest position, I have DELL,MSFT,AOL,WCOM,RNWK,QWST.

Some of my bigger positions might be called 'old gorillas' but they've helped me gain 45% YTD!

Hey Uncle Frank, DELL's my #1 position, but I'm thinking of selling some to raise cash for an eventual QCOM purchase when it dips (all this excitement on QCOM has got me thinking about wireless). As a loyal Dellhead, what do you think <g>
