JF3, you are correct about the after hours trading. However, I think this is done on the Instinet trading system. Schwab, my broker, told me the quotes that I get from their web-site are from the Pacific Exchange.

Stock Bull

PS: I think the extended trading hours are going to be a problem for the individual investor. For those that use their computer during the present trading hours are going to be confronted with spending extra hours at the computer, or leaving the market "unattended" for many hours a day. I for one could not spend any extra time at the computer...it would drive me "nuts".

"Some stocks (AOL being one) also trade daily on the NASDAQ after the NYSE closes. If the NASDAQ extends their hours to 9:00 p.m. as they indicated today, it's going to make for a long, long trading day."

No rest for the weary--or wary.
