New York--{Reuters)--CMGI Inc. (CMGI Nasdaq - news) rescinds stock split. The May 27th scheduled split of shares in CMGI has been suspended pending further announcement by David Wetherell, the chief executive of CMGI. It is unknown whether the split suspension is subject to final shareholder approval or is related to the previously announced share purchase of closely held CMGI unit, Lycos, (LCOS Nasdaq) to USA Networks. In an unrelated move on March 31, Wetherell, and Japanese trading house Sumitomo Corp. filed with U.S. regulators to sell a total of 700,000 common shares of CMGI, SEC documents showed. No other details were released by the company, prior a scheduled April 5th press conference in Washington D.C.
