Have you forgotten that without Reagan, the USSR would still exist? During the illegal air traffic controller strike, he told them that if they went through with the strike, they would be fired. The firing was simply a fulfillment of a promise. A columnist mentioned recently that this single act by Reagan was a sign to the world that he was a man of his word. Conversely, Clinton has never displayed any degree of toughness to the world. He is now perceived as weak and indecisive by the world.

Btw, I think Reagan was correct in firing the air traffic controllers, but obviously, your opinion is biased by your union affiliation.
