Go North, I disagree......

There isn't anything wrong with the TSE adding BII to the 300 index...it will keep the index well balanced with all groups well covered. The Dow Jones is made up of arguably the 30 biggest blue chips..thats right..only 30 stocks make up the Dow Jones average...look at the S&P 500 and I'm sure you'll scratch your head about a lot of those companies. Remember, the TSE 300 is comprised of 300 companies (I Believe Celestica was added to that as of today). Again, there are some companies in that index that are worse off than BII. I remember a few years back that Bramalea Limited was in the index....it lost Millions annually for the last 5 or 6 years it was in the index....

This stuff os not nonsense....in fact, I'd bet it does get an invite to the TSE if the index were to add a company from the Internet sector. With E-commerce being huge in the future, the TSE will eventaually have to add companies in that particular sector.

It is not ridiculous at all. To the best of my knowledge, addition to the TSE 300 is based on market cap, trading volumes and trading history. That's why Bre-X got added so fast - it had the volume and the cap, just like BII. Anyway, how can you compare being added to an index of 300 stocks on a relatively minor market to one of just 30 on the biggest stock exchange in the world?

>>>Steelguy, please reframe from posting this type of nonsense. It makes our country and exchanges look bad to US investors.<<

>>but there is a rumour that BII will be added to the TSE 300.........
