I use MS. I like it. Every software has its ups and downs but MS seems to be a pretty solid program. I used to complain about some minor irritations but, for the life of me, I can't remember what they were. So, must not have mattered all that much

For scaning Quotes Plus does a much better job. It is quicker and it is part of the software that you get when you sign on to Quotes Plus as your data provider. There is a QP thread so you can read up on what can be done with it. Brooke has a site which lists a bazillion scans (well, not quite a bazillion). With QP you download the entire nyse, nasdaq and amex lists of stocks. You also get indexes and options of mutual funds.

wittder,

Meta Stock is a great bang for the buck. The problems I have had with it are some of the trendlines move around when scrolling or zooming. Not super accurate in that respect. But I have been living with it.

Parity is shareware. Also a great bang for the buck.

More buck bangs... Q+. Fantastic scanning software.

So I download all the data in Q+ each night.
Then use a code written scan to mine for goodies.
Then I scan in MS for stuff I can't in Q+.
System tests are done in MS, some backtests in Q+.
milesov has written some pattern scans but most is done by eye.

the lab around here consists of mostly 56 folks who contribute their ideas of what to look for, there is a bit of Voo in every scan too, I think

And if we don't understand Voo we modify it till we do, like the multiplex...>g<

In the future I will probably look at TF+, maybe GET.

If I had just bought GNET I let you guys do all this and I would go play in the sand...>g<
