IBM Netfinity Servers First to Certify Eight-Node Configurations on Oracle8i
Parallel Server

SOMERS, NY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 1999--IBM today announced certification for Oracle8i Parallel Server
on its Netfinity line of servers.

The configuration is the first eight-node Oracle8i Parallel Server cluster certified to run on Windows NT with Fibre
Channel storage. Certification helps assure customers that Oracle8i Parallel Server will perform smoothly on
IBM Netfinity servers.

IBM Netfinity servers continue to be the hardware of choice for the development of scalable Oracle Parallel
Server clusters. Last year IBM was the first to certify six-node Oracle Parallel Server cluster configurations with
Fibre Channel Storage.

Scalable configurations of Oracle8i Parallel Server are enhanced by smart hardware features of the Netfinity
X-architecture. Based on proven technologies adopted from IBM's large systems portfolio, X-architecture
exclusives such as LightPath Diagnostics and hot-add PCI help ensure that Netfinity servers are among the
most manageable and available servers in the industry.
