Del,
To the best of my knowledge there are no EV1s available to the public
at this time. Also it is extremely difficult to replace the lead Acid battery 'packs'that have failed. Even individual replacement batteries (modules) are hard to come by.
I know of no one who has received a 99' EV1 with NiMH batteries.
There are more public Chargers not operating than ever before and many are simply not being repaired in a timely manner. Some have been out for months. The infrastructure in all areas concerning the EV1 is a disaster in my opinion. It always has been but it is worse now than ever before.
As for Michael Latas, the EV1 has never been leased or marketed or permitted outside of California and two cities in Arizona.
After two years in the market in California, I have yet to speak to anyone who has ever seen an Ad or even seen the car in my day to day activities.
the worst things said about electric vehicles has always come from executives of the Auto companies, themselves. Other than Government mandates, the ATV-EV movement appears to have no allies of consequence and businessmen enemies, everywhere.
