I posted the LP position on Kosovo because I am
strongly against our actions there and I was glad
at least one other group was willing to speak out.
It made me proud to be a Libertarian. You can bet
that nobody with the party held an opinion poll
before issuing that release. In the meantime, the
liberals and conservatives in Washington have each
reversed their traditional views. The irony of
the anti-war Clinton supporters with their Serbia
bombing apologia was surpassed only by that of the
feminist Clinton supporters defending him during
Monica-gate. Meanwhile, the anti-war rhetoric from
the Republicans seemed every bit as sincere as their
new-found concern for women in the workplace

The Kosovo situation is terrible and everyone
wants something to be done. However, it is worth
remembering Hippocrates: "first, do no harm."
We have made a bad situation worse in our efforts
to help.

I'd like to see us open our borders to the Albanians
who are fleeing. That is one positive step
we can take now and yet we allow these people to be
stranded on the border. Why is bombing people so
much easier?
