>>>I'm beginning to have serious doubts.

Beginning? Spots, since you first posted on this board I think you've always said you have serious doubts.

>>>Is this an internet stock?

What do you consider an internet stock? Does CheckFree plan to produce a majority of its (short, medium, long term?) revenue from the Internet? What are barriers to entry? etc.

>>>to mention that old technology

Who has new technology? Trust me spots, you don't want to go here.

>>>Somehow, recently, when I've asked or answered questions here on SI indicating irritation as a customer, the responses have focused on that, assuming I'm so irrational or irritable that I can't see beyond it.

First off, you got notified of the rate through e-mail (via Quicken), or should have. Second CheckFree raised the rates so the don't compete directly with their bank customers. You can very easily reduce you monthly charge by signing up with a bank

>>>Here are some fundamentals from Yahoo as of today, now, a few minutes ago:

Your fundamentals are incorrect. Last quarter they made 22 cents (operationally they broke even), This quarter they will make a profit. You should probably do some more research. Spots if your going to short a company, you need to do just as much, if not more research, than when you buy a company. Based on your reasoning, you would have shorted AOL a long time ago (AOL is one of the few companies to out perform MSFT). I'm not comparing AOL to CKFR, but you need to back up your reasoning with a little more sustenance.

Spots,

you wrote:

<<What kind of customer relations is it when CKFR raises
price by 3 bucks a month and uses their power of bank draft
to take it with no notification, by-your-leave, kiss-my-ass,
go-to-hell. or anything else? This is what they just did
to me, and it has me worried.>>

If you exceed the monthly allocation of e-payments for the Checkfree service (20 per month I think)you will get hit with a $3 incremental charge for that month. There isn't a monthly notification issued when this occurs but I am sure that it is in the customer agreement. This happens to me on occasion with my Checkfree account.

This may explain your unannounced price increase.

Regards,

Mark
