"stinking, smelly, Jimson/Loco Weed." We smelled the flower. It seemed to smell pleasant. I didn't call it sacred, a caption in the book "Grand Canyon" did? I couldn't remember the Latin.

But as you know, bad taste and even pain are no deterrent to to the earnest.

BTW, the ocotillo were said to be in the best of bloom. We saw yellow ones too. Cheery, they were. Many hummingbirds. Saw a less abundant Black-chinned. And, the four bighorns.
